2024 was a year of resilience and expansion for CSG06. With a solid support structure in place, we continued our post-COVID recovery, welcoming more clients, expanding our services, and strengthening our outreach. Every step we took was guided by our mission: ensuring that no one faces cancer alone
On March 8, 2025, we held our Annual General Meeting, bringing together our members for a meaningful moment of reflection on all that we accomplished in 2024. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate our progress, and share our vision for the future. The event reinforced the importance of our community and the incredible dedication of our volunteers, service providers, and supporters.
Supporting Our Clients: More Than Just a Helping Hand
At the heart of CSG06 are the individuals and families we support. This past year, we:
- Assisted 35 clients with emotional support, guidance through French administrative processes, translation at medical appointments, transportation, and bereavement support.
- Offered “Perfect Days”—three special days dedicated to bringing joy and meaningful experiences to clients.
- Launched regular monthly drop-in sessions at an additional location in Antibes in March 2024 to provide a welcoming space for conversations and emotional support.
- Partnered with the Elysées-Marbeuf beauty school in Cannes for a special spa day, offering relaxation and well-being to seven clients and their loved ones.
Our commitment to training and multilingual support also grew:
- We trained seven new Active Listeners and retrained another seven, ensuring our team is always equipped to offer compassionate, professional support.
- Expanded our service provision from just English to other languages such as French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch, aligning with our goal of making cancer support more accessible. The website is now available in these languages as well.
Enhancing our Service
CSG06 believes in holistic support. This year, we:
- Welcomed new service providers offering Art Therapy, Therapeutic Coaching, Sophrology, and Therapeutic Music—all of which accept CSG06 vouchers.
- Introduced Therapeutic Music at the Tzanck day hospital, made possible through a special grant.
- Provided additional free or donation-based services, including hairdressing/wig styling, gentle exercise, and bereavement support.
Strengthening Our Outreach and Awareness
Reaching those who need us is just as important as offering support. In 2024, we:
- Took part in community events at La Ligue, Octobre Rose, Mimosa Matters, International School of Nice, Sunnybank Awareness Day, Comité des Soins de Support de Mougins, and more, as maintaining good relationships with sister organisations is crucial
- Were listed in the Guide des Soins, a key directory for cancer support organizations.
- Developed a Strategic Communications Plan and redesigned our branding to enhance visibility.
- Built a new working group to connect with medical professionals, businesses, and associations—because no one should have to search for support; it should be easy to find.
Looking Ahead to 2025
We’re excited for what’s ahead! In the coming year, our focus will be on:
✅ Expanding our drop-in sessions (including a potential new location in Nice).
✅ Growing our service provider network to offer even more holistic therapies.
✅ Strengthening our Outreach strategy under new leadership to deepen connections with medical professionals.
✅ Continuing to increase accessibility for non-French speakers navigating cancer treatment in France.
A Heartfelt Thank You
CSG06 thrives because of our volunteers, donors, and community partners. From board members who have guided us through change to the therapists who provide comfort, and to every person who donates, participates, or spreads the word—you make this work possible.
As we step into 2025, we remain committed to our mission: offering compassionate, multilingual cancer support to all who need it.
💙 If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, please reach out. We are here for you.
